I founded Girl Scouts of America on March 12, 1912.  My mission statement is: "Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place." I met Sir Robert Baden-Powell, founder of Boy Scouts and Girl Guides in 1911 and he inspired me to start an organization to empower young girls.

              About Me

I married on the same day my parents  wedding day   hoping that we {meaning me and my husband} could have the same luck that my mom and dad got with their marriage. The year and date of my marrige was:December 21, 1886. At my  wedding she lost hearing in one ear and on my honey-moon I got very ill I had the flu and they had no cure for the flu so I had to slowly get better every day and when it was over I had lost the hearing in my other ear and that meant I didn't have to hear anybody say I can't do that!
